Hi, I was married 17 years to my wife, a marriage which was extremely difficult due to
her sudden and sometimes inexplicable changes in mood and subsequent outbursts of rage
towards me, our children, her mother and her sister. She has never admitted to having a
psycological disorder and has always expected eveyone to forgive and forget. We have three
children, all of which are teenagers now. Even though we are divorced since some 5-6 years,
I am very concerned both about her well being and of course that of my kids.

Having read up on BPD I feel certain that this is what she suffers from although I am not qualified
to make such a diagnosis. There is something i found which is called the DSM-IV criteria where
I found that she clearly shows 5 out of the 9 listed symptoms. Without entering into all of her symptoms,
my question to this forum is this:

How do you get someone who clearly has shown these symptoms over a long period of time diagnosed??

The problem is big - if she continues her life without treatment, all people in her surroundings, including yet unborn
grand children will all suffer (and possibly acquire psycological problems themselves).

Any advice is most welcome, thanking you in advance!
