Maybe people don't talk much, due the nature of the illness. Sometimes you want to just be alone, or are afraid to say anything in case people take it the
wrong way and reject you, a person with BPD worst fear.On the other hand, talking about the way you are feeling shows others that you aren't alone in
feeling that way and you aren't going crazy.
Sometimes sites like this offer somewhere, where you don't get judged for fearing rejection, feeling abandoned and alone, because people on here are going through the same thoughts. Until i got diagnosed i just felt i was going out of my mind, how could anyone understand, and now i know that there are others out there, who feel the same, think the same and that there is hope with the right help and support to get somewhere in life. And on the bad days when you need to off load to people you really need to understand you can, here, and there, or where ever you go.Sometimes family and friends aren't the right people, because you fear their judgements, or they are the ones bothering you, and support workers are, well impossible to get close to, because you know in the end they will desert you. They say they understand, but they don't, all they know is what the books tell them, they don't know it like we do.... they don't have a clue what it's like with this day in, day out.... Did i just go off topic? LOL... |

Nah, it's on topic... just that, you know, I feel abandoned because nobody posts... The best day I had hear was reading through the posts and replying.
Everything was so familiar. Yes! Yes! Yes! That´s me! Finally! And then i realized that the 12 or so posts I had been reading stretched back almost six
months...

BPDsanctuary sucks....i freaking hate that site, if there were more options it would be nice. I hope BPDfriends attracts more people as i'm really getting
sick of the censorship Nazis on some of the other sites.

Well now the moderator of the sanctuary site says that the bpdfriends site is just a data mining site. I'm not sure what that means exactly, but he said he
spent 20 mins. digging up info on it and it's a site used to sell your info to businesses. I have no idea if it's true or not.

that may of been true a while ago... but not so anymore. like i said i bought this domain 3 wks ago. with the intentions of doing exactly what it is doing. The
previous owner of the domain (which I did NOT buy it from) may have been doing that for what ever reason I DO NOT know. But I will assure you that is not my
intentions

Now I'm going to break it down with my response in bold
The site you are talking about is a corporate "friends" site. We see them all the time. I am a mom that works out of my house, if you look up the whois on this domain you would see my information not some big company and with some corporate name. Or you might see that it is private (pay a lil extra for that) I would think someone with this as their intention would use that option. It's an data mining site. It now has knows that the 2000 members has bpd/bipolar. I wish I already had 2000 members It can now sell that info to other corporations to spam or advertise to your for meds, nutritional supplements, insurance, drug test studies, etc) The site could care less about you. Who is to say this site wont do the same, but I am telling you now I will not do such a thing And its setup "freinds site' on other disorders. Thats why it has a robot gathering articles. That is for you or myself to write about other problems we may have alot of sites will have similiar set ups. Also the robot is just a RSS grabber I created that name (I could of used my own) then I set it up to grab information to articles that are post on random sites I selected for our information to read The more you post the more info it gets about you that it can the attach to your email address and thus target you. The more members it gets, the better ranking it gets. Every website wants to get more members and better rankings so it can it can become popular and well used. I bet he is probably accusing myspace or any other major website of the same thing. It then can sell its high rankings by putting up links with glowing reports for sites for fake meds over the internet. Pages you'll never see, but the search engines do. They don't care about you. They only want your info I have no idea what a glowing report is. If I was doing all this, I wouldn't be an active member pouring my heart out with the the same issues you all have. I have been here day in and day out coming on 13 yrs. These slime dogs have only been online 20 days. Every site has to start somewhere. |
